My name is Huy Pham. I am a portrait and wedding photographer based in San Jose, Bay Area.
Photography started as a hobby for me as it does for many others. I picked up my first Canon Dslr four years ago to shoot landscape and portraits of family and friends for fun.
While I was surfing the web for tips and tricks to get better at my craft I ran across some amazing photojournalism portraits that photographers around the world share on www.pbase.com. Those photos inspired me so much that I really wanted to become a portrait photographer. I found myself spending immense amount of time entrenched in books, manuals, and practice and experiment non-stop to get better. I have learned it many possible way but mostly self taught and experimenting with many different things because I wanted to know how things work. My curiosity probably the one thing that help my development tremendously.
Photography have changed my life, for the better. Through photography I have connected with many friends around the world. I met some great people along the way. Some of them are amazing photographers whom I greatly admire.
I am mostly a location photographer. I like to include different elements on locations into the photo to tell the story. I encourage my clients to choose places that are special to them, like where they got engaged or where they went on their first date. I like the images I capture have special meaning to them instead of me taking them to my familiar place and do the same thing over.
